Day One Hundred and Thirty-Three

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted here. Umm, guess it's time to catch up. Got sidetracked and stopped writing there for a while. Well, still sort of picking at writing, but didn't make much progress. Wrote nearly 20k for nano on a project for a different pen name. I seem to be pulling myself back together now. Got the cliches back in my head, my head back in the game, and what not. Since I haven't been recording my word count, I'm just going to add an even 20k to represent everything I've written since my last post. I think it should be close enough.

And in good news, I finally finished the next short story that should have been done forever ago, so Lust for the Money should be up by tonight or tomorrow, paperback in the next week or two.

Day Forty-Four

Early shift at work, which also meant getting home early, then proceeding to spend all my time on the nano forums. Oh well.

I got a paperback proof in the mail today, which is always exciting. I don't seem to be selling books under either pen name right now, though. It's a bit discouraging. Finally managed to make myself get off the forums and pick at my story. It's a bit late, though, and I have another early shift tomorrow, so not writing all that much. I know I need to pick up the pace and get this done, but, eh. It'll get there. Hopefully by Friday before work. I want to spend this weekend writing a book for my other pen name, so I need to get this short story for this one done first. Gah. Still, I'm down to about 3k, which I can knock out in a day if I need to. I'll get there okay. :)

Day Forty-Three

First day of October. Feeling kinda blech. Morning went too fast, didn't get anything done before work. Got home, went to dinner with the family. Watched a little T.V. Still watching T.V. actually. New episode of New Girl, yay! Too tired to be productive. Will worry about getting things done tomorrow.

Day Forty-Two

Wanted to sleep in this morning, but managed to drag myself out of bed. Caught up on blog reading, finally got to writing a new post for this blog. Got a little bit of writing on Lust for the Money done then went to work. Got home from work, ate dinner and watched How I Met Your Mother. For, umm, several hours. Can never resist re-watching that show. Finally stopped watching and sat down to do a little more writing before bed. Remembered this blog post needed to be done, and that brings us to now!

Day Thirty-Six through Forty-One

Another awkward day gap! Mostly I was formatting. I guess that's what happens when you release three books in a short time frame. Woke up, formatted, went to work, got home, formatted some more. I had to scrap the old covers for the Lusting You series (I really need a title for the series, don't I?) because they looked awful in thumbnails. Really like the new covers. So fancy.

I compared a normal paperback to my print book template and got it all set up like a professional book. I know, EVEN MORE FANCY. Got so excited about it I contemplated opening my own book design business. Ended up deciding to sit on the idea for a while. I like making covers and designing book interiors, but I'm not a graphic designer. Plus, it would take time away from writing. Decided I'll revisit the idea in January and see what I think then.

Meant to get Lust for the Money written, like, a week ago but haven't gotten very far. Added a couple hundred words here and there. Blah. Hopefully I'll get it done in the next couple of days.

Got an idea for a new story and woke up at midnight last night to write the beginning. Don't know where I'm going with it or what I'll do with it once I'm finished. Need to get stuff I have obligations on done first, so I'm using it as a bribery project for now. Get writing done, and I get to write!

I have issues. So many issues.

Day Thirty-Five

There's a new book under the book tab! Yay! I'm thinking about starting a 'books released' and 'books sold' count under my word counts. Also, I finally got a lightbulb for the lamp in my room so I CAN SEE AGAIN!

Day started off like normal, read blogs and wrote the blog post for yesterday since I didn't get to it last night. Work started in the afternoon. I mostly spent the morning messing around online without accomplishing anything. Got back from work and had to go grocery shopping, then get some letters done for bank closing stuff.

Finally got to book stuff and decided the current cover for Lusting You looked terrible as a thumbnail, so I redid it. The new cover is much better. Also rewrote the description since the old one was pretty blah. Hoping these changes will help move some books. Well, that and dropping the price. I initially put it up at $2.99 because of the 70% royalty, but after thinking about I decided I just don't feel right charging that much for a sixteen page short story, so I dropped it to $0.99.

Now I've settled down to start on the sequel short story. I'm here writing this blog post, so you can tell how well that's gone. Hopefully I'll at least think of a first sentence or something and get this thing started before I go to sleep tonight.

Edit: Got the beginning started. Somehow ended up writing about the main characters discussing boobs. I am so immature I amaze myself sometimes.

Day Thirty-Four

Spent the morning doing laundry and writing. Got a good ways through the short story, then finished laundry and went over to my parents' house for dinner. Ate dinner and ice cream, hung out for a little while.

Came back to the apartment and re-watched some Community with my brother. He went to sleep, I settled back down in my room, finished off the short story then uploaded it to Amazon.

As of this morning, it's still publishing. I'm also putting together the print edition, but I'll probably wait to receive and approve the Pride proof before ordering a new one. Eh, maybe. I'll see how far I get today. It might seem a little silly to put together a print edition of a twenty page short story, but I like the idea of having print editions of everything I publish. After we move I'm going to put up a shelf with all the books I've written on it, so it'll be fun to have, even if no one ever orders it.
